Thanks to this great diversity of local, wild vegetal and animal species, this reserve has become one of the most preferred laboratories for nature investigators and students. Is for these reasons that it is one of the island’s main eco-touristic destinations.
One of its main identity marks is the monument “Pirámide Ciclópea” (Colossal Pyramid), located in “los Frailes Valley”. This is one of the most emblematic and symbolic monuments in the Dominican Republic. This monument is devoted to the dictator Rafael Leónidas Trujillo Molina. Another monument you can find inside the reserve is the Caamaño monument.
In Valle Nuevo scientific reserve, some of the country’s most important rivers spring, such as the Nizao River, the Ocoa River and the Cuevas River, among many others.
In addition, in Valle Nuevo Scientific Reserve you can find one of the highest peaks of the Dominican Republic: Alto de Bandera, which has become a challenge for the most experienced mountaineers. And also, the Aguas Blancas Waterfall, one of the most visited areas, since these waterfalls offer a crystal-clear water pond where you can take a refreshing bath and at the same time admire its untamed and wild nature.
Undoubtedly, Valle Nuevo Scientific Reserve is one of the must-visit destinations you should not miss on your trip to Constanza, in the Dominican Republic.
