Cabo Francés Viejo was declared a Natural Monument in 2009, and it is one of the most important protected areas in the Dominican Republic, mostly characterised by its turquoise waters.

Besides, it is one of the most recommended spots for cliff-climbing since it is a coastal plateau opened to reefs and cliffs, amongst some other beauty natural features.

It is located in the proximities of the road that connects Cabrera and Río San Juan, and it occupies an area of about 5 square kilometres.

If you go for a walk there, you can reach the “three lighthouses”, from where there are incredible panoramic sights of the Atlantic Ocean. These lighthouses stand out because of their age difference, the oldest one is 150 years old. After this, you can resume your walk and descend to Bretón Beach.

Enjoy the beach’s 1.5 km full of natural beauties and discover the local flora and fauna.
