The Iglesia de Santa Rosa de Lima Church was a shrine managed by the priest J.W. Connor in 1914 to honor Santa Rosa de Lima, the first patron saint of Peru, the New World and Philippines even before being canonized.
The church is located in front of the Juan Pablo Duarte Park and surrounded by a nice garden. Its architecture is of main interest for tourism as well as its festivities, that every August fill the streets with crowds of people who participate in the several sports, arts, and cultural activities offered. Apart from the parade in the streets of the town, the craft fairs and fireworks are also quite interesting for those visitors who want to know about the customs and traditions in the area.
