Located in El Seibo, north of the Eastern Mountain Range and southeast of the Samaná Bay, Miches is surrounded by hills covered in palm trees and other kinds of trees. This coastal town attracted it first inhabitants with its abundant fishing banks and fertile grounds that saw how small agricultural plantations sprang up.

Besides the charming and popular coasts as well as the tropical beaches with fine sand and palm trees, Miches is a place truly worth the visit due to its clean streets and typical houses where you can be a witness of its daily life.

The place offers a wide variety of natural landscapes where to have a walk both in mountain areas and beach. The local festivities of Carnival and Easter Week are relevant dates when the town welcomes hundreds of visitors and locals to enjoy the parades and contests. Also, in February, the different schools of the area organize a parade during Independence Day.

Miches is a place where to mingle with the locals and be inspired by Dominican culture without the influence of the more centralized tourism of the eastern areas.

Only 17 kilometers from Miches, you can find the Redonda and Limón Lagoons Scientific Reserve, where you can see many types of birds and other animal species.
