© marvin del CidSan Rafael Spa is located in Barahona province, in Barahona-Enriquillo road, which is one of the most busy roads of the Dominican Republic.
One of the distinctive features of San Rafael Spa is that it combines the oceanic waves of the Caribbean Sea with a pond created by the mouth of San Rafael River. This pebble and loose stone beach is very popular among surfers. At weekends, it is possible to dance to the Dominican music that plays at the local restaurants.

The river’s cascade is one of the main tourist attractions. It has been transformed into a natural spa. This place, as well as the beach, is quite visited both by Dominicans and foreigners, almost all weekends and holidays.
The beach’s waters are crystalline and turquoise, and it is covered with little white river stones.
