Visit one of the oldest houses in Santo Domingo, the Tostado House Museum, which was built in the 14th century and whose name comes from its first owner, notary of the Governor. On its facade, it can be seen a geminated window in Gothic-Elizabethan style, which is unique in America.

Thanks to its large rooms and brick arches, the house was considered the most luxurious one in the colony. Moreover, it has a wonderful garden where you’ll be able to take a break during the visit to this incredible building that is part of the island’s historical heritage.

The building houses the Museum of the Dominican Family of the 19th Century, where you can contemplate interesting real objects of the daily life from the 19th century. Besides, you will learn how people used to live at the time. There, you will also find furniture, bronze and porcelain objects, books, paintings, photographs and other elements of personal use.

It is located in the Colonial City, next to the Primada de América Cathedral and very close to other museums like the Larimar Museum, the Trampolín Children’s Museum or the Tobacco Museum, among others.
